The Yellow-faced Fischer

Some notes on the Yellow-faced Fischer:

The yellow-faced (green series) is a fischer lovebird mutation that originated from Australia in the late 80’s. The mutation is incomplete dominant. DF birds have a yellow masked coloration while the color of the green plumage is slightly different from the normal wild-type. It is lighter green in color. The rump color also deviates a little. It is lighter violet with a golden sheen on top. Single factor birds have an orange mask and a somewhat lighter beak color (orange-red bill).

In the yellow-faced (green series) only the facial mask and the markings in the tail have changed.

The pictures (3 & 4) for instance nicely shows three heads, normal, SF yellow-faced and DF yellow-faced.

In an aqua, all plumage has a reduction of approximately 50 % of psittacofulvins.

Not many breeders have them in their collection.
